Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thorwald Probst could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the California and Western Art Online auction, the work Desert in Bloom 14 x 17 in. framed 23 x 26 in. changed hands for USD 640.00 (€ 586.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thorwald Probst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset, Grand Canyon 16 x 20 in. framed 25 x 29 in., which sold at auction in December last year for USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,310.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thorwald Probst konnte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion California and Western Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Desert in Bloom 14 x 17 in. framed 23 x 26 in. für USD 640,00 (€ 586,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thorwald Probst mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset, Grand Canyon 16 x 20 in. framed 25 x 29 in. beobachtet, die im Dezember letzten Jahres für USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.310,99) versteigert wurde.
