Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Scenery form the carthusian monastery Certosa di San Giacomo, Capri by Thorvald Niss was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 8,000.00 (€ 1,072.97). Admittedly, works by Thorvald Niss have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seascape with fishing boats in the evening sun in January 2024 with an auction result of DKK 6,500.00 (€ 5,680.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Scenery form the carthusian monastery Certosa di San Giacomo, Capri von Thorvald Niss im November diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 8.000,00 (€ 1.072,97) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thorvald Niss auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seascape with fishing boats in the evening sun im Januar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 6.500,00 (€ 5.680,83).
