Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Landscape by Thomas Yeo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 31,250.00 (€ 3,677.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Yeo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Airborne, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,698.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Thomas Yeo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 31.250,00 (€ 3.677,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Yeo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Airborne beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.698,61) versteigert wurde.
