Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Yeo could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online auction, the work Autumn Trees changed hands for HKD 17,500.00 (€ 2,001.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Yeo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Airborne in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,698.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Yeo konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Autumn Trees für HKD 17.500,00 (€ 2.001,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Yeo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Airborne im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.698,61).
