Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,510.00 (€ 34,309.28). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Wyck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Venice, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 108,100.00 (€ 136,348.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit An Italianate port with stevedores unloading a ship in the foreground von Thomas Wyck kam im Juli 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.510,00 (€ 34.309,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Wyck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Venice beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 108.100,00 (€ 136.348,09) versteigert wurde.
