This artwork by Thomas Wyck achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2015. In the The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV auction, the work View of buildings beside a river, probably the Tiber (recto ) ; faint traces of a study in black chalk ( verso ) sold for EUR 8,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Wyck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Venice in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 108,100.00 (€ 136,348.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Wyck erzielte im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV wurde die Arbeit View of buildings beside a river, probably the Tiber (recto ) ; faint traces of a study in black chalk ( verso ) für EUR 8.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Wyck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Venice im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.100,00 (€ 136.348,09).
