Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Achilles Shouting From The Trenches by Thomas Woolner was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,407.38) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Woolner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Roundel Of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,526.86).
