Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Theatre Royal, Nottingham signed and dated 'Hammond/1885' (lower right) by Thomas William Hammond for GBP 187.50 (€ 238.22). This price was achieved in the auction The Sunday Sale : The Langford Hall Collection, Nottinghamshire - Property of the late Mr & Mrs Patrick Radford at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas William Hammond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Hart Inn; The Back of the White Hart Inn; Park Steps and Street Scene, Nottingham in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,382.21).
