Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Artist Fishing At Green Point, Cape Of Good Hope, With The Lighthouse Beyond by Thomas William Bowler was sold in the Topographical Pictures, including China Trade Paintings. ARCTIC · AMERICAS · AFRICA · ASIA · AUSTRALASIA · ANTARCTICA auction at Christies in London in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,511.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas William Bowler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lion'S Head And Sea Point From Green Point, Cape Of Good Hope in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 90,702.42).
