Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Sunday Morning by Thomas Waterman Wood. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,972.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Waterman Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arguing the Question in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 133,799.15).
