Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Juliaan van Groenewegen (1671-1739), three-quarter-length, seated in an ochre costume, a chemise with a white jabot and a red wrap, a country house in the background; and Portrait of Johanna van Groenewegen-Staal (1684-1736), three-quarte by Thomas van der Wilt was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2007. The price achieved of EUR 9,600.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas van der Wilt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 22,690.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Juliaan van Groenewegen (1671-1739), three-quarter-length, seated in an ochre costume, a chemise with a white jabot and a red wrap, a country house in the background; and Portrait of Johanna van Groenewegen-Staal (1684-1736), three-quarte von Thomas van der Wilt kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 9.600,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas van der Wilt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 22.690,28) versteigert wurde.
