Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a burgundy coloured coat with a white wrap, by a pillar in a landscape by Thomas van der Wilt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 11,046.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas van der Wilt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 22,690.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a burgundy coloured coat with a white wrap, by a pillar in a landscape von Thomas van der Wilt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 11.046,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas van der Wilt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 22.690,28) versteigert wurde.
