Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,440.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas van der Wilt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 22,690.28).
