Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work Portrait of a gentleman, standing three-quarter-length, in a brown silk robe with blue lining, and a white chemise with a lace collar, before a celestial globe and a statue of Chronus; and Portrait of a lady, standing three-quarter-length, in a red v by Thomas van der Wilt. The price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,089.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas van der Wilt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 22,690.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, standing three-quarter-length, in a brown silk robe with blue lining, and a white chemise with a lace collar, before a celestial globe and a statue of Chronus; and Portrait of a lady, standing three-quarter-length, in a red v von Thomas van der Wilt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.089,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas van der Wilt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elegant company playing tric-trac around a table in an interior im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.535,00 (€ 22.690,28).
