In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work A Ship Of The Line 100 Years Ago by Thomas Somerscales. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,711.74). Admittedly, works by Thomas Somerscales have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of The Port And Bay Of Valparaíso, Chile in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 254,500.00 (€ 200,488.42).

Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Ship Of The Line 100 Years Ago von Thomas Somerscales zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.711,74) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Somerscales auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View Of The Port And Bay Of Valparaíso, Chile im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 254.500,00 (€ 200.488,42).
