In the Maritime Art auction, the work The emigrants sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,377.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Somerscales achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of The Port And Bay Of Valparaíso, Chile in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 254,500.00 (€ 200,488.42).
