This artwork by Thomas Schütte achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2015. In the A Visual Odyssey Selections from LAC (Lambert Art Collection) Staged by Jacques Grange auction, the work Wicht sold for GBP 332,500.00 (€ 465,084.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Schütte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grosser Geist Nr. 13 in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 5,275,600.00 (€ 4,731,904.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Schütte erzielte im Oktober 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Visual Odyssey Selections from LAC (Lambert Art Collection) Staged by Jacques Grange wurde die Arbeit Wicht für GBP 332.500,00 (€ 465.084,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Schütte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grosser Geist Nr. 13 im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.275.600,00 (€ 4.731.904,21).
