Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam, which included the work Melonen (from the Obst und Gemüse series) by Thomas Schütte. It changed hands for a price of EUR 17,640.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Schütte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grosser Geist Nr. 13 in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 5,275,600.00 (€ 4,731,904.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam durch, in der auch die Arbeit Melonen (from the Obst und Gemüse series) von Thomas Schütte zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 17.640,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Schütte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grosser Geist Nr. 13 im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.275.600,00 (€ 4.731.904,21).
