Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Triton and nymphs by Thomas Rowlandson was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in September last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,176.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rowlandson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,636.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Triton and nymphs von Thomas Rowlandson wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.176,61) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Rowlandson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.636,56).
