Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work St Austell, Cornwall by Thomas Rowlandson. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,352.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rowlandson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,636.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Austell, Cornwall von Thomas Rowlandson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.352,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Rowlandson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.636,56).
