Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Collections, Including Selected Items From The Estate of Lord Eden of Winton, which included the work Posting in Ireland by Thomas Rowlandson. The price achieved of GBP 640.00 (€ 744.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rowlandson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,636.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Collections, Including Selected Items From The Estate of Lord Eden of Winton durch, in der auch die Arbeit Posting in Ireland von Thomas Rowlandson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 640,00 (€ 744,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Rowlandson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.636,56).
