Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 'Human nature is fond of Novelty. Pliny' by Thomas Rowlandson was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,627.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rowlandson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,636.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 'Human nature is fond of Novelty.
