In April this year Bonhams held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Austrian troops, or a field day in the Netherlands by Thomas Rowlandson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,649.87), 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rowlandson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,636.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Austrian troops, or a field day in the Netherlands von Thomas Rowlandson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.649,87) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Rowlandson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A gaming table at Devonshire House, London: Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Harriet, Lady Duncannon, the Prince of Wales and others gambling im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.636,56).
