Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Resting by the wayside by Thomas Colman Dibdin was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 239.00 (€ 361.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Colman Dibdin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A group of nine drawings for Illustrations of the Rock Cut Temples of India including Frontispiece, Khandagiri Hill, Cuttak; The Chaitya Cave, Ajanta (illustrated); Entrance to the Chaitya Cave, Ajanta; The Verandah of Vihara (illustrated); Exterior in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A group of nine drawings for Illustrations of the Rock Cut Temples of India including Frontispiece, Khandagiri Hill, Cuttak; The Chaitya Cave, Ajanta (illustrated); Entrance to the Chaitya Cave, Ajanta; The Verandah of Vihara (illustrated); Exterior im September 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 12.036,91).
