Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work The English Convent, Bruges by Thomas Colman Dibdin for GBP 156.00 (€ 223.52). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Colman Dibdin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A group of nine drawings for Illustrations of the Rock Cut Temples of India including Frontispiece, Khandagiri Hill, Cuttak; The Chaitya Cave, Ajanta (illustrated); Entrance to the Chaitya Cave, Ajanta; The Verandah of Vihara (illustrated); Exterior in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€
