Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of the East Indiaman Neptune in two positions off the Downs by Thomas Luny was auctioned at Bonhams in London in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,120.00 (€ 7,297.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Luny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 108,100.00 (€ 130,083.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of the East Indiaman Neptune in two positions off the Downs von Thomas Luny kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.120,00 (€ 7.297,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Luny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle Of Copenhagen, 2Nd April 1801 im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.100,00 (€ 130.083,88).
