The work Portrait Of Thomas Osborne (1632 - 1712), First Duke Of Leeds, Lord Danby, Full-Length by Thomas Gibson was sold in the Old Masters auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,903.93) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Gibson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of the Hon. Mrs William Townshend, three-quarter-length, in black and red masquerade dress, holding a mask in her right hand, a classical arcade beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 48,083.84).
