Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters and British Paintings, which included the work Portrait of Antonio Niccolini Sirigatti, full-length, in a blue velvet coat and breeches, an elaborate embroidered waistcoat, wearing the cross of the Order of Saint Stephen, in a classical garden by Thomas Gibson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,485.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Gibson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of the Hon. Mrs William Townshend, three-quarter-length, in black and red masquerade dress, holding a mask in her right hand, a classical arcade beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 48,083.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters and British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Antonio Niccolini Sirigatti, full-length, in a blue velvet coat and breeches, an elaborate embroidered waistcoat, wearing the cross of the Order of Saint Stephen, in a classical garden von Thomas Gibson zur Versteigerung kam. Mrs William Townshend, three-quarter-length, in black and red masquerade dress, holding a mask in her right hand, a classical arcade beyond im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktions
