Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Henry Crispe of Catton (1657-1736/7), bust-length, in clerical robes, feigned oval; and Portrait of Ann Crispe, née Percy (b.1671), half-length, in a black dress and black bonnet with white lace trim, feigned oval by Thomas Frye was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2008. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 3,027.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Frye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman; And Portrait Of A Lady in April 2010 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 49,772.29).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Henry Crispe of Catton (1657-1736/7), bust-length, in clerical robes, feigned oval; and Portrait of Ann Crispe, née Percy (b.1671), half-length, in a black dress and black bonnet with white lace trim, feigned oval von Thomas Frye kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
