In the British and Victorian Paintings auction, the work A portrait of Henry Hanson, half-length, in a black jacket with cuffs and gold stitching sold for GBP 6,931.00 (€ 10,399.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Frye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman; And Portrait Of A Lady in April 2010 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 49,772.29).
