Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street, which included the work The Rustic Toilet by Thomas Faed. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,290.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Faed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Worn Out in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 259,650.00 (€ 379,080.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Rustic Toilet von Thomas Faed zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.290,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Faed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Worn Out im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 259.650,00 (€ 379.080,81).
