In August 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish and Sporting Pictures, which included the work The Mitherless Bairn by Thomas Faed. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,478.34), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Faed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Worn Out in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 259,650.00 (€ 379,080.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish and Sporting Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Mitherless Bairn von Thomas Faed zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.478,34) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Faed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Worn Out im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 259.650,00 (€ 379.080,81).
