In March this year Bonhams held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A Fisherman Wading In A Rocky River by Thomas Creswick. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,160.45), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Creswick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The London Road A Hundred Years Ago in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 56,912.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Fisherman Wading In A Rocky River von Thomas Creswick zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.160,45) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Creswick erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The London Road A Hundred Years Ago im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 56.912,57).
