The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,997.04), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Creswick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The London Road A Hundred Years Ago in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 56,912.57).

Die Arbeit Figures and animals on along a river bank, a cottage and windmill beyond von Thomas Creswick wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.997,04) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Creswick erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The London Road A Hundred Years Ago im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 56.912,57).
