Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work An angler on the bank of a rocky river by Thomas Creswick. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 705.00 (€ 1,104.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Creswick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The London Road A Hundred Years Ago in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 56,912.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit An angler on the bank of a rocky river von Thomas Creswick zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 705,00 (€ 1.104,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Creswick erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The London Road A Hundred Years Ago im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 56.912,57).
