Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2018 Artcurial in Paris held the auction The Writing’s on the Wall, which included the work Circle Maps - 2010 - 2016 by Thomas Canto. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 5,850.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Canto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Triangle Burst in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 40,255.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2018 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion The Writing’s on the Wall durch, in der auch die Arbeit Circle Maps - 2010 - 2016 von Thomas Canto zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 5.850,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Canto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Triangle Burst im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 40.255,80).
