Auction result well in line with expectations
The work North Pier, Scarborough; and At Southend (illustrated) by Thomas Bush Hardy was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in May 2011. The price achieved of GBP 937.50 (€ 1,072.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Bush Hardy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Margate Harbor in July 2002 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 29,277.26).

Die Arbeit North Pier, Scarborough; and At Southend (illustrated) von Thomas Bush Hardy wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 937,50 (€ 1.072,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Bush Hardy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Margate Harbor im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 29.277,26).
