Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Sister'S Grave by Thomas Brooks was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2013. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,035.56). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Brooks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Relenting 'The Silence of Pure Innocence Persuades, Where Speaking Fails' (William Shakespeare, The Winter'S Tale), which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 79,000.00 (€ 50,745.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Sister'S Grave von Thomas Brooks wurde im Dezember 2013 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.035,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Brooks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Relenting 'The Silence of Pure Innocence Persuades, Where Speaking Fails' (William Shakespeare, The Winter'S Tale) beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 79.000,00 (€ 50.745,12) versteigert wurde.
