Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Barker could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Figures in an encampment beneath the trees changed hands for GBP 58.75 (€ 90.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Barker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Roman Capriccio With Figures, The Colosseum Beyond in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 29,704.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Barker konnte im Juni 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations wechselte die Arbeit Figures in an encampment beneath the trees für GBP 58,75 (€ 90,87) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00.
