In the Topographical Pictures auction, the work The Mosi-O-A-Tunya (Smoke Resounding) Or Victoria Falls Of The Zambesi River, Latitude 17.55.4 South sold for GBP 187,500.00 (€ 211,003.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Baines - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Eastern Cataracts of the Victoria Falls, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 574,750.00 (€ 675,183.19).

Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Baines mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Eastern Cataracts of the Victoria Falls beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 574.750,00 (€ 675.183,19) versteigert wurde.
