The »bidding war« ended at GBP 24,500.00 (€ 34,306.34), 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Baines achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eastern Cataracts of the Victoria Falls in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 574,750.00 (€ 675,183.19).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 24.500,00 (€ 34.306,34) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Baines erzielen.
