Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,860.00 (€ 15,966.19), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théodore Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le chêne de roche in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 413,430.99).

Die Arbeit Étang au crépuscule von Théodore Rousseau wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 15.966,19) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Théodore Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le chêne de roche im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.500,00 (€ 413.430,99).
