A top price for Théodore Rousseau - as previously expected
The work Le chêne de roche by Théodore Rousseau was sold in the European Art: Part I auction at Christies in New York in October 2018. The price achieved of USD 468,500.00 (€ 413,430.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Le chêne de roche is the most expensive artwork by Théodore Rousseau that we have observed at auctions so far.
