Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Theodore Earl Butler could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Giverny changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,097.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Earl Butler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flag Day in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 552,500.00 (€ 487,944.89).
