Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Soldier by Thaweesak Srithongdee for HKD 6,250.00 (€ 659.47). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thaweesak Srithongdee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2012 with an auction result of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,525.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Soldier von Thaweesak Srithongdee für HKD 6.250,00 (€ 659,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thaweesak Srithongdee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.525,78).
