Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thaweesak Srithongdee could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Juloby changed hands for HKD 3,125.00 (€ 358.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thaweesak Srithongdee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2012 with an auction result of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,525.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thaweesak Srithongdee konnte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Juloby für HKD 3.125,00 (€ 358,94) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thaweesak Srithongdee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.525,78).
