Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Stone Trees Ii by Tang Guo was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,589.76). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tang Guo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stone Trees 1, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,491.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Stone Trees Ii von Tang Guo im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.589,76) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Tang Guo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stone Trees 1 beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.491,43) versteigert wurde.
