This artwork by Tanaka Ryōhei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction, the work Six etchings and a preliminary sketch (shita-e) sold for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,104.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tanaka Ryōhei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1986 and 1988 sold at auction in November last year with the realized price of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,171.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tanaka Ryōhei erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection wurde die Arbeit Six etchings and a preliminary sketch (shita-e) für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.104,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tanaka Ryōhei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1986 and 1988 im November letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.171,02).
