Three middle-sized etchings: the first of horizontal format titled Taiju no ie (The House with Large Trees), edition number 60/120, dated '88, overall: 36cm x 44cm (14 3/16in x 17 5/16in), the plate: 26.4cm x 34cm (10 3/8in x 13 3/8in); the second of horizontal format titled Karasu #3 (Crow #3), edition number 26/120, dated '88, overall: 33cm x 49cm (13in x 19 5/16in), the plate: 23.5cm x 39.3cm (9¼in x 15½in); the last of square format titled Maki (Firewood), edition number 33/100, dated '86, overall: 46.5cm x 46cm (18 5/16in x 18¼in), the plate: 35.5cm x 35.7cm (14in x 14 1/16in); all signed in Roman script in pencil T. Ryohei along the bottom edge.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1986 and 1988 by Tanaka Ryōhei was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,216.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tanaka Ryōhei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1986 and 1988, which sold at auction in November last year for GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,171.02).

Die Arbeit Showa era (1926-1989), dated 1986 and 1988 von Tanaka Ryōhei kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion.
