Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Tsuki no yoru (Starlit Night) by Takahashi Shōtei was sold in the From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 896.00 (€ 1,042.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Takahashi Shōtei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abalone diver, 1931.8 in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 45,952.50).
